The Otesha Project (Australia): Cycling for Sustainability

Are you interested in finding a unique way to approach youth and engage them on sustainability issues?

Each tour will have teams of 15 - 20 amazing, motivated, and funky riders setting off in November and January tours. This year our tours will travel around Victoria and New South Wales performing plays and providing workshops on sustainability and social justice issues! WOOT WOOT! Guess what? You could be that very person! Oh yes you can...

Give me the low down

Riders on the sustainable storm will live and work in a mobile community working together to not only "be the change you want to see in the world", but also inspiring and encouraging youth in Australia to make positive changes.

Tour members will all work together to create workshops about sustainable and social justice issues they want to create awareness on, as well work together to help coordinate presentations and places to sleep in various communities. During this time you will connect with communities you travel through, learn about the challenges they face, suggest possible solutions, and hear solutions they are implementing. Throughout your entire journey you will inspire people across Australia to empower positive change in their lives and local communities What's better than that?

Does it get better than that?

Well we like to think so. You will receive training and gain massive valuable experience in public speaking, group facilitation, theatre, community living, consensus decision-making, workshop presenting, bike touring, and bike maintenance. AND the best part is that you will be living, breathing, sharing, loving, and expressing your rad passion as a vehicle of positive amazing change!

Introducing the New South Wales Tour... November 15th to December 22nd, 2008 Join a collective group of individuals for 6 weeks that will ride down the east coast of Australia, dipping in oceans, empowering youth with presentations and workshops, dancing on long beaches, and challenging themselves to grow more sustainable. If this makes you froth at your mouth you've come to the right place (apply here)!

January 18th to March 1st, 2009 Be a part of the change by joining a crew of peeps who will ride from Melbourne, following close by the beautiful Great Ocean road, stopping by the ancient beauty of the Grampians, coninuing over to Bendigo and then completing this adventurous loop back to the heart of Melbourne. All the while you'll be presenting to youth, empowering yourself, tour members, and community members! So now all you need to do is apply!

So please register for a tour or as a coordinator and even if you can't be a part of the experience perhaps you could offer accomodation, a donation, in-kind donation, or random moral support. It will all help!
