27.2.09 We're baaaaackk!

And we are back!  Presenting at the school we started our first, slightly anxious, and very excited days anticipating the trip ahead.
Started the day sleepy, despite our 'amazing' 8:45am start.  -oh, that's right, we rode 104km yesterday.  bum-chek-a-wa-waw!  Uhuh, so, done with the ringing our own bells.  We performed our very last school performance at Kilbreda College (where we're staying), to a group of year 8's and 9's, followed by two runs of each of our workshops.  We then had lunch with the Justice and Democracy group here who are working on some awesome projects - from fair trade to refugees.  Mmm, falafels too, the other way to our hearts!
After lunch, a mad rush to make our eco villians and eco superhero costumes ensued, including perusing of op-shops, amazing new used found for ex-inner tubes, and manic crafternooning.

Trained to South Yarra for our last ride as a group into town to join critical mass.  Despite the resistance of the day to day bike consumers to even smile at us (I don't understand!!!), our costumes were amazing!  We had:
-Kelsey: Veggie cheerleader
-Julia: Clean Coal Crusader
-Celine:  Eco Warrior
-Anna: Permacouture
-Tash: Hessian Hero
-Bindy: Granny Gear
-Candice:  Green Machine
-Dylan:  Oil Tycoon Diplomat
-Meg:  Wise Water Woman
-Pip:  Mellow Yellow
-Ange:  Rainbow Warrior
-Cassie: Baking up a storm
-Libby:  The Otesha Bug, ladybug style!
All rocking up to the beautiful critical mass bike celebration in the city.  Beautiful bikes, beautiful people, funky music...and all without having to pay Dylan's character.  Brought the lovely mass back to East Brunswick where our party was generously hosted by the lovely ex-workshop of Human Powered Cycles.  Complete with bike art and a projector screen in the form of a whole building!  We had an awesome night.  Beer provided by the Good Brew Co., entertainment provided by us, and fun times provided by BE REJOINING US!!  Completing our amazing tour by making us our original 14 again.  The Oteshalings fades around 1 and slinked back to their abode...an amazing yurt!  What an end to an amazing night, thanks so much to all you lovely people who helped make it happen - special mention to Clare, Matt, Andrew, and the crew at Harrison St, not to mention the audience who humored us in our last and most energised performance of the play - "adult version!"
We've been Otesha FM, thank you for all your support, stay tuned for future tour updates, and goodnight!

Hope to hear of some SWAT team performances stealthily hitting some more schools around Melbourne over the next while... maybe. (SWAT -sustainable, witty activist theatre!)
