The Otesha Project (Australia): Cycling for Sustainability

We are looking to get 15 to 20 riders for each tour to be part of a really amazing collective community in New South Wales and Victoria. If you are between the age of 18 or older please apply by following the instructions below.

Our policy states that 80% of our tour members must be between the ages of 18 and 30 to ensure that it’s a youth-based program empowering youth.

What does it take?
For you to be passionate. For you to want to make change or empower others, and for you to be willing to learn and teach others what you know. We are seeking people who are interested all different skill levels, passionate, and eager to grow with the rest of the group you’ll be riding with. It’s with your drive and desire to make a difference that we will be able to empower others to do the same.

How much does it cost?
Once we have selected all the riders you will be asked to contribute money upfront to reserve your spot on the tour. This money will go directly towards paying for the food on your tour. We are able to charge a small amount because each person who coordinates a city, town, or community will be contacting local grocery stores for donations (and we usually ask places along the way to make donations or donate food that will be thrown away).

New South Wales - $350
Victoria - $350

We may need to make some small changes to the total cost of each tour, these will be finalised by the tour application deadlines.

Additional funds for days off and nights out is recommended so that you can go out and have a good time or enjoy your days off.

Are you struggling to afford this?
We do not want the cost of a tour experience be a reason for people not to apply. So, if you are finding it difficult to meet the costs required please get in contact with us and we can discuss FUNdraising and other options.

We are asking applicants to create a two page description that tells us why you would like to be on tour. Be creative, be yourself, and do what you want to tell us what you see, what you want to change, and what you feel you can contribute to our team. This should also include your CV so that we can get a picture of the diversity of peeps applying.

We are an organization run by youth for youth, and for that reason an age screen is applied in the selection process. We accept applications from individuals aged 18 and older with the stipulation that 80% of our tour members must between the age of 18 and 30.
